Fastest Growing Temporary Jobs in the Staffing Industry
CareerBulider and Economic Modeling Specialists recently published a list of jobs that using temporary staffing companies to hire temps at an increased rate. Based on data from EMSI, a CareerBuilder company that provides employment data and economic research, the list includes occupations that have seen anywhere from 15% growth to 25% growth in the period of 2010 to 2012. If you run a temporary staffing agency, Staffing Industry Analysts showcased the temporary employment fields that saw the most growth.
Those in sales representatives & services as well as accountants & auditors each saw an 18% increase in growth in their jobs. Sales representatives sell various objects and skills to businesses and consumers; nearly 3,340 jobs were added between 2010 and 2012. Accountants and auditors are those who prepare and examine financial records to guarantee accuracy and around 1,690 jobs in this field were added during the same two year period.
Many occupations saw a 19% increase of growth between 2010 and 2012. Electricians install and maintain electrical systems in various location and they had 1,245 jobs added. Roughly 3,920 jobs were added to the 24,238 already employed maintenance and repair workers, who uphold and fix equipment and buildings.
Business operation specialists study and reengineer business processes to improve product or service delivery and other tasks; 1,677 jobs were added to the already employed 10,528 business operation specialists.
The manufacturing staffing industry also saw growth. Wholesale and manufacturing sales representatives sell goods for wholesalers and manufacturers to various groups and businesses; 1,142 jobs were added in this field in the two year period. Inspectors, testers, sorters, samplers, and weighers, who assess products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications, saw 3,414 jobs added between 2010 and 2012. Team assemblers, who bear the job of helping to assemble a product or part of it, saw a 20% increase in job growth from 2010 to 2012, with 21,529 jobs added.
As for medical staffing, 5,155 jobs were added to the 31,975 nursing aides, orderlies, and attendants providing basic care to patients in hospitals or long-term care facilities. With a 21% increase in growth, home health aides, who monitor health status and help with routine care like changing bandages or applying topical medications and treatments, had 4,786 jobs added from 2010 to 2012.
Nurse staffing companies can breathe a sigh of relief thanks to a 15% increase in growth are registered nurses, who provide patient care and support. The number of registered nurses employed is 66, 844, with 8,766 jobs added in the two year period of 2010 to 2012.
Human Resources, Training and Labor Relations Specialists, who support various HR functions like training and benefits, saw a 25% increase in jobs between 2010 to 2012, with 11,893 jobs added to the number of those previously employed of approximately 59,600.
