SBA National Small Business Week

Phil Cohen

Main Street, it is time to celebrate! May 5th marks the start of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Week.

National Small Business Week 2019

National Small Business Week will be held May 5-11, 2019. From Sunday to Saturday, the U.S. Small Business Administration will be hosting events and webinars honoring the crucial role that American small businesses play in the overall economy. Administrator Linda McMahon will start the week in Washington, D.C., where she will recognize and award outstanding small business owners and SBA Resource Partners from around the nation.

History of Small Business Week

SBA’s National Small Business Week sheds light on the small businesses and entrepreneurs of America and their success. Each year the President of the United States sets aside one week in the spring to honor and celebrate small businesses. Since 1963, National Small Business Week has recognized the outstanding achievements of America’s small business owners and entrepreneurs for their notable contributions to their local communities and to the U.S. economy. More than half of all Americans either work for or owns a small business. A National Small Business Week Award is one of the nation’s highest honors for small business achievement. Every day, people are working to grow small businesses, create new and innovative jobs, drive change, and increase America’s global competitiveness.
